You will join an expert and motivated team responsible for developing the next generation of Automotive and Industrial IP products. This role coordinates functional safety activities within a project, developing the safety context, leading safety activities, and fostering safety culture while adhering to established methodologies. You will be responsible for acting as liaison for the project to product management, quality management, and safety assessors.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain one or more functional safety work products such as Safety Plan, Safety CaseA structured argument, supported by a body of evidence, that a system is acceptably safe for a specific application in a specific environment. Read more report, adhering to established methodologies
- Drive safety analysis activities within the team and develop associated work products such as FMEAFailure Modes and Effects Analysis: a bottom-up method cataloging how components fail and what effects those failures produce. - Develop and deploy continual improvement initiatives to ensure functional safety practices are effective and efficient
- Work with the product manager on establishing functional safety requirements for the product
- Assist the project manager on functional safety activity planning, resource estimation and safety training
- Assist the safety lead during functional safety assessments
Requirements
- BS in Electrical or Computer engineering or equivalent and 7+ years’ experience in VLSI hardware design, or
- MS in Electrical or Computer engineering and 5+ years’ experience in VLSI hardware design
- Proficiency in hardware design and development, HDL languages, i.e. Verilog, VHDL and programming languages, i.e. C, C++, Perl, Python
- Knowledge of hardware failure modes and safety mechanisms
- Knowledge and/or application of one or more Safety Analysis methodologies: FMEA, FMEDA, DFA
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Experience working on functional safety-related development projects applying industry recognized standards, e.g., ISO 26262Road Vehicles - Functional Safety. Automotive functional safety standard defining ASILAutomotive Safety Integrity Level (A to D) under ISO 26262, derived from severity, exposure, and controllability. - Exposure to projects developing safety critical automotive and industrial solutions for AD, ADAS, IVI, Digital Cockpit, Robotics
- Experience with authoring and reviewing technical documentation
- Experience with fault simulation and analysis
