Bear in mind, that we need you to confirm that you can obtain a security clearance by the Danish Defense Intelligence Service, and that all adults in your household are not posing any risk to the related risk-evaluation. This entails among other issues

  • That you have as a minimum stayed within NATO/EU/MISWG countries for the last 7 years only interrupted by short stays abroad, and
  • That you have not committed serious criminal offences

Responsibilities

At the organization, we develop advanced defense and aerospace solutions that protect people and nations. Our Product Safety team ensures these systems operate safely under all conditions. We are looking for Software System Safety Specialists at different levels of seniority

  • Experienced professionals with 5–8 years in software safety engineering
  • Senior experts ready to take ownership and lead strategic safety initiatives

As our new Software Safety Engineer, you will not just check boxes – you will influence design decisions, shape safety strategies, and drive innovation. Your key responsibilities include

  • Lead safety software assurance activities
  • Create Software Safety Plans, Verification & Validation Plans, and Safety Cases that set the standard for excellence
  • Perform Software , , and , ensuring robust safety integrity levels
  • Ensure compliance with international standards like , MIL-STD-882E, DO-178C, and more
  • Support independent safety assessments and audits that validate your work
  • Work with verification and validation () team
  • Check test strategies from system safety perspective that guarantee reliability from unit to system level
  • Maintain traceability from safety requirements to design, code, and test artifacts
  • Support code reviews, static/dynamic analysis, and automated testing from system safety perspective
  • Analyze results, manage non-conformities, and ensure corrective actions are effective
  • Collaborate and innovate
  • Work closely with developers, systems engineers, and hardware teams to embed safety into every step
  • Contribute to new tools and processes, including web-based safety management platforms

You are fluent in English both in writing and verbal at a professional level. Danish is an advantage but not a requirement. Moreover, we are also looking for a new colleague who has

  • A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • For experienced roles: 5-8 years in system safety engineering for software-intensive systems
  • For senior roles: Extensive experience with leadership in safety-critical projects and strategic decision-making
  • Work experience in system safety engineering, particularly within defense, aerospace, or other safety-critical industries - Prior experience in defense or aerospace is highly desirable
  • A strong knowledge of embedded systems, real-time software, and safety-critical architectures
  • Familiarity with tools like DOORS, Eclipse, Visual Studio; model-based systems engineering is a plus
  • Meticulous and analytical: Able to process complex information and identify risks others might overlook
  • Thorough and rigorous: Personally disciplined and committed to getting facts right
  • A strong communicator: Capable of explaining safety findings and influencing decisions across all levels
  • Collaborative and team-oriented: Works effectively with cross-functional teams to integrate safety from the start
  • Proactive and forward-thinking: Anticipates emerging threats and develops innovative solutions
  • Organized and persistent: Manages multiple priorities and advocates for necessary changes - even when challenging
